To look upon; gaze at.
In my becloudedness my temptation is to gaze at myself and become inward looking. I have become convinced that we will not find joy inside ourselves, there is only darkness there. Instead we must look out to Christ. To behold Christ - who is the Light of the world.
Behold Him there the risen Lamb,
My perfect spotless righteousness,
The great unchangeable I AM,
The King of glory and of grace,
One in Himself I cannot die.
My soul is purchased by His blood,
My life is hid with Christ on high,
With Christ my Savior and my God!
